Carrefour supports the Telethon for the thirteenth year in a row
Carrefour has been one of the AFM-Téléthon's partners since 2007 and is continuing with its support by mobilising its network of stores and asking its employees to get involved in aid initiatives. From 2 to 8 December, fundraising initiatives to support research into genetic diseases will be running in stores.
Carrefour implements dedicated campaigns targeting its customers to support fundraising
After 12 years supporting the annual AFM-Téléthon fundraising campaign, this year Carrefour is running a number of operations in a bid to get its customers to support it:
o Selling specific products, such as a box of 30 chouquette pastries or a bouquet of 11 “Téléthon” roses, with €0.50 to €1.50 of each purchase going to the campaign. Similarly, for every “Téléthon” pocket bag purchased, €0.15 will go to the campaign.
o Donations can also be made at the checkout, with €2 coupons. This campaign is being run for the second year in a row and will last throughout the first half of December.
Carrefour is encouraging employees to get involved in the campaign
From 2 to 8 December, Carrefour stores of all formats will be running events alongside the Téléthon's local branch offices. More than 1600 Carrefour stores will be getting involved in aid initiatives.
The Group’s Massy, Evry, Mondeville, Lyon Villette and Lyon Danic head offices will also be getting involved and employees will be invited to take part in various initiatives to support the AFM-Téléthon.
And 25 Carrefour employees will take up France Télévisions’ “Toujours plus haut” (“Ever higher”) challenge on Friday 6 December alongside ambassador Pascal Rouve. The teams will have to make an Eiffel Tower out of fruit and vegetables – paying tribute to 130 years of this iconic French monument, and to 60 years of Carrefour. The products used for this challenge will then be given to the Solaal association, which was set up to promote closer ties between donors of foodstuffs and food aid charities.
